Hey Dan,i’m 14 and 6’1 and I have a problem, the problem isnt I am underskilled at basketball because I know I’m not, but the thing is, I have this confidence issue and it’s getting the best of me for example, im out playing 2 on 2 with my boys and I am unstoppable both left and right off the dribble, I can finish easily at the basketball, and i’m a deadly 3 point shooter now, im in a game and i just lose this type of play, i start missing easy layups with my left hand even thouhg im right handed but I shoot and love doing layups left but i can use both hands equally, i get nervous when im wide open mostly on the left hand side so i tend to use my right, and on fast break layups i get nervous because i think what if i miss?…I never get ratteld on a jumpshot, thats just the only natural part of my game, but each and every time i look in the mirror and say from nbow on im playing the way i play I end up playing with fear, but not even of the fear of getting blocked, just the fear of what people are thinkin when i miss easy baskets. I can basically score at will but when i miss one easy layup i know i shouldve made, my confidence level drops.how can I fix this problem because I want to play in the NBA but there’s no way ill play without confidence…?
