Ball Handling Mastery Review:

Ball Handling Mastery is a basketball training program created by Taylor Allan.

Taylor is widely regarded as one of the top basketball trainers in the world.

He is also a best-selling author of popular basketball training programs like Scoring Secrets, Dominate On Defense, and Prolific Shooting.

Having bought (almost) all of the basketball training programs on the market, I am certain of one thing:

Most of the conventional, old school drills that you find in every run-of-the-mill  “basketball instructional” DVD will do absolutely NOTHING for your on-court handles!

I’m talking about drills like figure 8s, ball wraps, and repeat crossovers…

Pros like Kobe Bryant, LeBron James, and Derek Rose DON’T do ball wraps or stationary two ball drills in practice.

The REAL pros are doing what Taylor Allan calls HYBRID drills – complex, high speed ball handling sequences designed to strategically force your handles to higher and higher levels.

Taylor discovered these drills during a workout he did with two European Pro League players, and he shares ALL of them with you in his Ball Handling Mastery Program.

He has packaged them into a step-by-step 12 week sequence of workouts for you to follow.

Here are some of the things you will discover in the Ball Handling Mastery program:

  • The single most effective 12 week ball handling progression in existence today – progress from the level you’re at now, all the way up to MASTERY level (complete control of the ball at any speed).
  • How to pattern your workouts after NBA and European Pro League superstars so that you have NO CHOICE but to force your handles to the professional level.
  • The 3 step formula for beating any defender off the dribble, no matter how “lock-down” they are on defense. Most players miss at least two of these steps, and it’s the only reason for ever getting stopped on your way to the hoop.
  • Full, step-by-step breakdowns of the 6 best perimeter players in the game, and every move that they make on the court.
  • How to REALLY perform the killer-crossover so that your defender literally JUMPS out of your way.
  • and much, much more…

What I Disliked About The Program

I didn’t really “dislike” anything about the program.

With that being said, it’s a very comprehensive program, containing several hours of instructional videos.

There is a lot of information to go through, but I guess this is a GREAT thing if you’re a serious basketball player looking to maximize your potential.

Also, the workouts are not easy (duh), but very FUN to do.

Conclusion

I give the Ball Handling Mastery program my HIGHEST recommendation.

I’ve gone through (almost) all of the basketball training products in the market, and Ball Handling Mastery is EASILY the best ball handling program.

I want to make my school basketball team. I have exceptional ball handles, but it gets so crowded at tryouts and there are so many favorites. I get nervous and I can dribble and win one on one but I dont know how or when to use my ball handles to score. Which program is better, the baketball scoring secrets, or the ball handling mastery?

    • Dan Says:

Hey Derek. Both programs are excellent, and they were designed by Taylor Allan to go hand-in-hand with one another. BUT, if you are already a great ball handler and you’re looking to score more, I would get definitely get Scoring Secrets.

    Hey Dan,

I finished the 3rd phase of alex maroko’s effective handle already. Should I finish effective handle or should I start ball-handling mastery because I already bought it.

Hey Sam. I respect your dedication to mastering your ball handling skills. Finish EBH first then do Ball Handling Mastery. You will have some SICK handles when you’re done with both programs. Keep me updated on your progress.

        Hey Dan,

So if i finish effective ball-handling, should I start on the Elite phase of ball-handling mastery or should I start from the beginning? I want to have killer handles before my sophomore of high school starts so I can start on varsity. I’m also doing prolific shooting and about to start the jump manual and dominate on defense that I got as a bonus a while ago. Plus I got scoring secrets too.

        • Dan Says:

Hey Sam. I would start from the beginning of Ball Handling Mastery. Also, it’s ok to do all of Taylor’s programs at the same time (Scoring Secrets, Prolific Shooting, Ball Handling Mastery and Dominate On Defense) because they are designed to work together.

BUT, I’d wait to do the Jump Manual separately to avoid over-training.

    • Dan Says:

Hey Makayla. If you are already a great shooter, I would consider getting the Scoring Secrets program to improve your overall scoring ability (slashing to the basket, moving (and scoring) without the ball, etc).

Hey Dan,If i’m a point guard with alreight handles and alright scoring, should i get ball handling mastery or scoring secrets to be a better point guard

    Reply

    • Joe Says:

I would get ball handling mastery for now cause it will make your arlight handles and make you able to handle it at high speeds under pressure. Plus it gives you tips on how to crossover your opponents and beat them off the dribble.both work extremely well. And basketball scoring secrets is gonna make unguardable. But if your gonna play point guard, ball handling may be a better priorty to keep you being a point guard

    Hey guys,

I have bh mastery, ebh, scoring secrets, jump manual, and vert tech reloaded. I haven’t started ebh bh mastery jump manual but I have incorporated a lot of the scoring secrets info and trust me it is unbelievably amazing. I can control a defender to where they’re practically a puppet. I recommended it 100000000000000 times. I love it! Also, just doing the instant inches part of vert tech reloaded I have gained at least 5 inches. It’s great. Can’t wait to start bh mastery. And no I’m not asked or paid to leave good comments about it. I’ve always wondered if ppl do that haha well hope u try the stuff!!

    • Dan Says:

Hey Spencer. The format is online DVDs. You will not get anything in the mail. Once you purchase it, you will get access to a membership site with all the videos.

Not sure what you mean. I’d say you’d know by how well you progress through the different phases. Once you complete each phase, and you could do the drills in them, I guess you’d be successful?

Hey does doing ball handling outside make your handles better because when you use and outdoor ball their is less traction on the ball, which makes it harder to dribble??

hey Dan when do you think the ebh 2.0 review is gonna finish I want a ball handling program but don’t know whether to get ball handling mastery or effective ball handling 2.0 which one would you recommend?

    Reply

    • Dan Says:

Hey Pj. I am still working on the EBH review. I really like both programs, and they will both help you improve your handles. If I had to pick only one, I’d pick Ball Handling Mastery (although they BOTH work very well).

Hello Dan since you completed the program I have some questions if you could please help me or give me any advice I would really appreciate it!! I’ve been stuck on week 3 of the effective ball handling program. I pass all the reps on testing day on week 4 but it wasn’t as fast and smooth as I wanted to be so I decided to go back to week 3. I have a lot of days where my handles doesn’t feel right, drills I could do with ease I have trouble doing. Most the time I have forearm/wrist pain that last for days and takes a long time to recover, so for example when I’m doing the stationary drills it can take me up to two hours or more to complete. If I’m not going real fast or intense and if I mess up on a rep I always start over, but my forearms get so fatigued during the workout that sometimes I can’t finish with enough energy and intensity as I started off with. Do you think its really beneficial if it takes that long to complete a workout? Should I take a break and finish the workout later or should I push on through? and also I have another big problem the feel I have for the ball changes a lot. Most the time my grip of the ball seems weird! I can never get a good feel for it like the ball is slippery or something is wrong with my hands. and other times the feel feels great I can really squeeze and control it! and palm it with ease. This also happens a lot if I change the ball I’m using I just can’t get a good grip on the ball, this drives me crazy because I would love to control all types of basketballs and also I never know if I’m going to wake up and have a great handle or not, its like a guessing game. I wish I could wake up everyday and feel confident in my handles and know that I surely can handle the rock with ease ,but now its just a once in a while thing. Sorry for the long read, I hope you can help me on this because this has been something I been struggling with for the longest!
