The only reason anyone gets results using platform shoes is because no one does the types of exercises that are included with their programs. If you play basketball and lift weights, then of course you will see improvement after you start doing the Jumpsole or strength shoe workout, because they use different types of exercises. All you have to do is look at your center of gravity in a mirror, standing sideways without the Jumpsoles flatfooted, then raise your weight off your heels, and then put the Jumpsoles on, and your balance will be the same as standing with your heels raised a few inches. It's total hype.

Hey Dan, I'm 13, 5'1", about 90lbs, and I can easily touch net. Please, please answer me this:
should I do Air Alert III?? I really, really want to get close to the rim. I don't have any jump training experience, and if I do the program, I plan on doing the exercises indoors on a very cushioned carpet flooring. I DO NOT want to injure my self! Thanks for your time!

Opps! I forgot to mention: Ice (I use a gel-pack) 2-3 times a day. Especially after exercise. This will take away the swelling from the tendon and allow it to heal. Very important!

I found that my right knee started to "feel weird". I could not pin it to anything in particular. It was never swollen, and it felt like it was not stable. Rest made it better, but exercise brought it right back. Finally I tried a knee strap (under my knee). This made a HUGE difference! Now that I know that I have jumper's knee, I know what to do. Wear my knee strap during exercise, and avoid deep knee bends. I do light-weight leg extensions, and I emphasize the "down" motion by going very slowly. I do light squats (not too deep). My knee feels SO MUCH BETTER! I will continue with my program for several more months. I NEVER want to feel that knee pain again! I hope that you kids will take a lesson from an old (46 year old) man. Fix this problem before it gets worse!!!!

I play Men's volleyball and I once landed sideways on my leg. Now somewhere in my knee feels pain, not too much, but not too little either. I want to treat it before it has a chance to become painful. Any tips or ideas?

I believe they can work only if you try your best at it. I have had 3 knee operations(2 torn ACL right/left and 1 partial torn meniscus) and I can honestly say after my recent injury which was my partial torn meniscus I could not jump at all. I am 5'9 and I could not even reach the net on a 10 ft rim. I then started the jumpsoles program as a rehab program and just a month in I am half an inch away from touching a 10ft rim with one hand. I can dunk on a 9ft rim with one hand and 8 1/2ft with 2 hands. From seeing my results, I say that the jumpsoles are working great for me and have my legs stronger. I am in week 5 on the program and I will probably not be dunking on a 10ft rim at the end of the 2 month program but I think I may be able to if I continue the program for a couple more months. Depending on if you want to believe this or not the choice is yours. Hope this helps if you are debating to get them or not.

hey. i did air alert 2 as a junior in high school and saw some pretty great results. i went from being able to run and jump off of 1 foot to touch the rim to being able to stand under the hoop take 1 step and hang with 2 hands off of 2 feet. on the day when my legs were the most explosive the hoop literally looked low to me. i am now 31 years old and just started air alert 4. i gained 4 inches in the first 4 weeks, but got into the habbit of testing my legs almost every day. i didn't see any results from week 5 and my legs were spent. i made my self rest for a full 48 hours and then played some pickup games one night. i started week 6 the next day and my legs feel stronger than ever. i won't test my legs again until the week 8 rest week, but i am very optimistic. my legs are stronger, my step is quicker and my game is the best it has been in 10 years. i love air alert, but i know that you will hurt yourself if you overdue it on your rest days. do the program as directed, rest on your rest days and play ball once a week and you'll have results without injury.

As a physiotherapist I can tell you that jumpers knee or Patellar Tendonitis is very common in young men. However sometimes its confused with Iliotibial Band Syndrome. The Illiotibial band is a band of strong tissue that begins on the outer side of the pelvis and attaches to the outer part of the knee. Excessive strain can lead to the tendon shorting which causes the band to rub on the knee cap and produces pain.

Hello Dan since you completed the program I have some questions if you could please help me or give me any advice I would really appreciate it!! I've been stuck on week 3 of the effective ball handling program. I pass all the reps on testing day on week 4 but it wasn't as fast and smooth as I wanted to be so I decided to go back to week 3. I have a lot of days where my handles doesn't feel right, drills I could do with ease I have trouble doing. Most the time I have forearm/wrist pain that last for days and takes a long time to recover, so for example when I'm doing the stationary drills it can take me up to two hours or more to complete. If I'm not going real fast or intense and if I mess up on a rep I always start over, but my forearms get so fatigued during the workout that sometimes I can't finish with enough energy and intensity as I started off with. Do you think its really beneficial if it takes that long to complete a workout? Should I take a break and finish the workout later or should I push on through? and also I have another big problem the feel I have for the ball changes a lot. Most the time my grip of the ball seems weird! I can never get a good feel for it like the ball is slippery or something is wrong with my hands. and other times the feel feels great I can really squeeze and control it! and palm it with ease. This also happens a lot if I change the ball I'm using I just can't get a good grip on the ball, this drives me crazy because I would love to control all types of basketballs and also I never know if I'm going to wake up and have a great handle or not, its like a guessing game. I wish I could wake up everyday and feel confident in my handles and know that I surely can handle the rock with ease ,but now its just a once in a while thing. Sorry for the long read, I hope you can help me on this because this has been something I been struggling with for the longest!

I have both and I'd go for prolific, you can always create by yourself with handles but it means nothing if you can't shoot. These programs are for serious players though and will take weeks to bring in everything, if you are a casual play id suggest checking out Alex Maroko.
