I was doing some research and came across an interesting study that tested the effectiveness of 3 types of training:
- Plyometrics
- Weight training
- Combined plyometric and weight training
The study took college athletes and put them on specific training regimens and tracked their results.
The final results showed that the effectiveness of plyometric training vs weight training was almost equal.
However, the combination of plyometrics and weight training resulted in much better results than either method alone.
This was the winner among the 3 tests.
This study reinforces what I’ve been telling you:
Strength (Weight Training) + Quickness (Plyos) = Vertical Jump Explosion
