Alan Barch Jr. is a 5’9″ athletic trainer who recently recorded the world’s first OFFICIAL
50 inch vertical jump.
This has to be the highest vertical jump ever recorded.
Many athletes have been RUMORED to have a 50 inch vertical leap, but they have never bothered to get tested.
Alan is the first who has OFFICIALLY been tested and measured.
It’s amazing to see how high he gets off the ground.
Here are the official results of his test:
Height: 5’9″
Standing reach: 7 feet 5.5 inches
Standing vertical jump: 50 inches
Running vertical jump: 54.5 inches
If this doesn’t inspire you to train harder, nothing will!
So if you want to take your vertical to the next level, read my review of the
best vertical jump programs right now.
Pick the one that best suits you, and follow it to the T (my favorite vertical jump program is the Jump Manual).
Challenge yourself to see how close you can get to Alan’s incredible feat.

October 1, 2010 at 9:22 pm

November 10, 2011 at 4:21 pm
nate robinson doesnt really jump that high, he has great timing! look at the dunk videos! his head isnt that close to the rim on any dunks ever! alan birch jr puts his head at the rim at only 2 inches taller then robinson.

Josh,
Never say a group can’t do something when huge evidence points to the contrary From all the youtube videos of white leapers and dunkers, not to mention that 3 white men won – Gold, Silver, Bronze – at the 2004 Olympics, it would seem that that white men can, indeed, jump…the highest.

AYE TEACH ME ASAP I HOPE ITS FREE
September 7, 2009 at 5:29 pm
It’s a widely known fact the Kadour Ziani holds the world record in the Guiness book with a 60″ vertical
September 7, 2009 at 8:07 pm
i used to think wite guys couldn’t jump. Cuz’ i’m black and i can jump pretty hi but my frends white and he can barely jump. tis guy flies high man. but nate robinsos still has the most vertical jump
September 7, 2009 at 8:12 pm
I think its weird how you dont actually see him doing a vertical or running jump!!
December 6, 2009 at 5:51 pm
Dats a lie that guy from france I known all around the world for havin a 60+ inch and so is wayne clark a ex globetrotter (my uncle so I witnessed it myself)the flash (R.I.P) etc so don’t get me wrong that’s impressive but I can name at least 20 more 60 inch leapers.
January 29, 2010 at 2:59 pm
But that has not been official. Some guy on here said it was on Guinness book of records, but he didn’t leave a reference and I haven’t seen anything like that.
You’ll have to show me that list of 20 people who can jump over 60 inches. I know the golden child has maybe over a 50 inch vertical, but you and I both know the hype that goes into telling everyone how high you can jump. It’s easy to get overemotional about it and over estimate. the vertec usually doesn’t lie.
November 10, 2011 at 4:26 pm
that globetrotter who dunked like 12 feet was also like 6 foot 7 so it wasnt that impressive on a scale of vertical leap! he may have had a 47 inch vert but not even close to even 60 inch vert
September 8, 2009 at 7:37 am
Thats crazy man. I’m tryna get like him and put my head by the rim.
September 8, 2009 at 11:36 am
It would be better to watch the actual video rather than seeing still pictures embedded in videos. Peace
September 8, 2009 at 9:08 pm
I want his jumping program can someone plz get to me or send me a link where i can get it.
September 9, 2009 at 12:48 am
These are still pictures, not video. I find that extremely fishy(to say the least). And this guy has a body builders physique. You rarely see that type of vertical on people with that build. Im real skeptical right now…
September 21, 2009 at 5:27 am
no… check out NFL’s overall average vertical… it’s around 35 or so… which is freakin high… because they are all big.. but do tons of squat for thigh muscles for running and physique stuff.. obviously…
muscle = vertical…
December 23, 2009 at 10:00 am
That’s an myth. Powerlifters/Olympic weighlifters typically have fairly decent verticals. A few years back on the NBA “Celebrity” Dunk contest there was a poewlefiter who had a 40+” vert. Granted hw was only 5’9″ and could do nothing but a 2 hand power dunk, it is still impressive as he was also around 245. It comes with all the squats, deadlifts and powercleans they do. The coninuous motion of “throwing”weight back up.

He’s got other videos that actually show him jumping and his head is just about as high as these pics. Here’s the link. Just look at how far his feet are off the ground.

If you do a search on this guys name at youtube you can find actual videos of him. He realy does get up pretty high.
September 19, 2009 at 1:50 pm
he should be in the NBA,he would really show those guys how to jump.
September 20, 2009 at 10:15 am
to play in the NBA you dont just ‘jump high’ yeah tht helps but you have to be able to play basketball
December 8, 2009 at 3:36 pm
We need to see video of Alan Barch jump… i’ve never “seen” anyone go over 48″ …
on the basketball court, i punched 48″ vertical jump while running back and forth doing figure 8′s frm basketball goal to goal when 24 yrs old, I’m now 63. i’l like to begin working your exercises to max out once again. I’m 5’7″ 180 lbs
December 8, 2009 at 4:53 pm
if and when i began your exercises, i’ll do some video if i’m lookin good, if i’m not lookin so good well i wont publicize it. age has it’s way on low back pain, etc.
January 20, 2010 at 2:13 pm
nice video he has hops
January 29, 2010 at 11:45 am
yes, i’m amazed. i’ll see what the training can do for me in a month, and i’m already 56.
January 31, 2010 at 7:55 pm
If you dropped me off of a platform above I could also appear to jump 4 feet. Lets see the video of him actually jumping or I call it a hoax.
March 12, 2010 at 1:53 am
i dont believe it cause it just shows pics but never a real video. any one can edit pics to make it look like he can jump
March 17, 2010 at 7:53 pm
I think that it is good to see what is achievable, but what was his starting vertical leap before it grew to 50″? How long did it take him to get to 50″? Overall this is inspiring.
March 31, 2010 at 10:12 pm
I thought that that waz amazing!!! He should definetly B able 2 throw it down good on tha court!
April 4, 2010 at 8:45 am

April 24, 2010 at 11:34 am
Wow that’s crazy hops! I’m 5’7 with a vert of 24″, it’s nice to know that there’s hope for me yet!
May 25, 2010 at 2:50 pm
That white man sure can jump! 50 inches, thats my record to beat now. I’m 5’9 with a vertical jump of 32 inches, and im only 16 and getting my white man hops !!
July 21, 2010 at 11:44 pm
Why doesn’t he play a part of the actual video of him jumping. These can be EASILY photoshoped, my gutt tells me they are.

I wonder what he does to train himself to get to those types of results.
March 21, 2011 at 3:36 pm
Nate Robinson can’t jump that high, he has good timing on dunks! I’m never seen Nate Robinson even come close to putting his elbow over the run! Nate is overrated! Nate is an amazing athlete!! A freak if nature!! But definitly doesn’t have a 50 inch vertical!!
